Original lithograph by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège to Dutch parents and founding member of the Cobra group with Karel Appel, Asger Jorn, Constant, Dotremont and later Alechinsky and Jacques Doucet "Idyll" Signed and dated in graphite by the hand of the artist Numbered E/A 2/20 - Atelier Corneille stamp on the back. The lithographic impression is of such quality that it gives the impression of having the brushstrokes in front of you. In the 1990s, Corneille set up his studio in the middle of his garden facing the wheat fields painted by Van Gogh. We find here the starry stars and the yellow Van Gogh which makes this amorous encounter a solar encounter. Cobra exhibition with the largest American collection of Corneille in Miami in spring and summer 2023. The Cobra retrospective in the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen has just ended on 15 January.
