Multiple Manpowered Fanjet Aircraft, old silkscreen print from 1972. The work is in perfect condition, without any discoloration, stains or other damage. the sheet is 90cm x 52 cm. Professionally framed in solid frame, The screen print ‘Manpowered Fanjet Aircraft’ shows a jet aircraft propelled by human strength. We can divide Panamarenko’s aircraft that are directly propelled by humans into two groups: flying machines with a propeller on the one hand, and aircraft with wings inspired by those of insects on the other. The jet aircraft on this screen print was never completed in its entirety. The artist only built the tail with the propulsion mechanism, entitling the work ‘Model voor aandrijving van het Mensenkracht-Jetvliegtuig’ (‘Model for the Propulsion of the Manpowered Fanjet Aircraft’) (1972). In addition to the annotations and calculations beside the design, Panamarenko also added typed notes in English, which give the piece a more scientific feel.
