Tine De Groote

De koffieschenkers

🖌What was your motivation for taking part in the challenge?
I like to experiment with new materials and I was not familiar with Pentel. The short deadline created an extra challenge. At the same time, the assignment was completely free, which also appealed to me. So I thought, why not?
🖌What was the inspiration for your work?
The illustration is about friendship, and the importance of the seemingly small things in life. Like a cup of hot coffee on a cold rainy day.
🖌What Pentel tools did you use to create your work?
The pencil and the black marker (point liner). Colored with the color brushes and the water brush. Then details applied with the brush sign pens.
🖌What stimulates you in your creations and in art?
I prefer to make illustrations about friendship, love, freedom (to be yourself) and feminine sensuality (and the freedom to express it – also an important feminist for me errand). I like to observe people and human relationships, and then make it my own story. Preferably with some humor.
🖌What is your "style" and purpose in art?
I like beautiful things, so 'creating something beautiful' is what drives me. In addition, tell a story that someone might identify with. Put emotions on paper. Preferably with a funny or absurd twist.
